You should stop doing any more work on your machine until you go purchase a manual.
You could have bought a used one on eBay for less than the cost of the head gasket you wasted. Not trying to bash but the manual has a good deal of information.

Are you talking about the clymer manual ?
That's what I had for my other atvs but I went on their website and there wasn't any manual for the lt500

Theres a guy on ebay selling a Official Suzuki Lt500 all years manual and it tells you the differences between years on cd all the time.
(Not a clymer)
For $6.00, free shipping. Thats what i got , i took it to office max and then printed the whole thing 230 pages or something for 13.00
in like 15 min
then i bought a binder from them for 2.00. plus i still have it on cd in case i grease up a page i can reprint it

i just keep a crap pc out in the garage. wireless network connection and i can browse my manuals and order parts at the same time.... extremely helpful. If you do end up buying a printed manual i would suggest either photo copying it or scanning it so that when (it will happen) you can no longer read a page or two you'll have a backup
