my buddie has an eiger and he gets hung up ALL the time, will 1500lb be strong enough for an eiger, trying to save cash

 

1,500 lb winches are for the sport quads. He should get at least a 2,500 lb winch.

 

I have a 2000# winch on my 04 vinson,(cheap one from ebay) and it works perfectly.
There is no need to buy the expensive ones. I got mine for 80 bucks shipped, with a roller fairlead and mount.

The summit looks identical to the one I bought from ebay, it should be fine, make sure its got a nice handlebar mounted switch, if not I recommend one. I have the 2000# on my vinson and it seems plenty powerful to me.

 

my buddy had a 90's polaris 250 4x4 with a superwinch 1500 on it. It had plenty of pulling power for him when he or I got stuck in the mud. it only had problems because he didnt clean it up and it got filled up with mud and Sh*t the bed on him.

 

Even better is a Winch from Harbor Freight. $50. Check out the links below to see how I hooked them up. If you're going to winchup the side of a mountain then they probably won't be the best. But for the occasional use they aren't to bad. Probably the same as the others.
