Default yellowish piston??? 88lt250r

I had my exhaust off today, and i looked up the exhaust port at the piston, and its slightly yellowish on the exhaust side.it is not scored up or anything, just a little yellowish, other than that it looks fine on that side. That made me curious so i took off the reeds and stuff and looked in the intake side and the piston is still just about new looking on the intake side. is this normal? forgot to mention this engine has about 4 hours on it an i run klotz supertechniplate at 32:1,and im running it rich to break it in.
