HERE GOES...My first post.........Just recently bought a 1987 LT230s. Had a brand new DG xcellerator and K&N filter. Carb was rebuilt with the moose racing rebuild kit. Has the stock jets in there for now,112.5 and 20....maybe the problem??dunno. PROBLEM starts and idles fine(once in a while will bog and die is idling for too long) but when I rev machine up slowly then let off it backfires(crackling). Plus whenI ride it down street and hit throttle it cuts out. What going on? Maybe just needs rejetting to compensate for pipe and filter? Or maybe timing or valves(compression test)? Carb seems great/clean and shouldn't be the problem. Also needs valve seals but shouldn't be the problem either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
