midrange 4wd...what do you think?
#1
Sometime this summer, I would like to get a 4wd to go with my V-force. I like the 500 class due to their fuel economy and adequate power. Right now I am interested in the new 500 honda foreman and the 500 polaris sportsman. The price might push me toward the foreman. The Polaris seems to have more features, but if I'm gonna spend that much, I am too close to the Prairie and Brute. I haven't negotiated with any Polaris dealers yet, but I know I can get the Honda for $5799.00. I think the Polaris lists for $6799.00 I started out really stoked over the Suzuki KQ, but after reading about the reverse issue, I am pretty discouraged. You can get them locally for around $6800.00. I might still check out the 650 Brute, but I can not imagine having two V-twins with gas approaching $2.50/gallon. Maybe the 4wd models are not as bad as the twin-piped V. Just the sound of the pipes keeps your right thumb bottomed out a little too much Anyway, what do you guys think about the midrange 4wds?

I've been informed by another poster, that the 500 quads are nearly as bad as the twin cylinders on fuel. If that's the case, maybe I will reconsider the big bore quads again. I had hoped that the midrange quads would be considerably cheaper to operate. I was just gonna let my buds have bragging rights to power, if I could operate much cheaper. That would really be a bummer to use the same fuel and be outclassed in power/speed. My friends have a 700 prairie and a new Grizz.
