I thinkin along the lines of the Phantom on this. I cant believe people are more excited to have more options in the 450class. they make great dune quads and I myself may end up with one of these Yeller bikes unless yamaha does sompin. I need to diversify my collection anyway

I don't care if it does or doesn't have E-start. IF I do buy a 450 of any kind, it will be for the track, I want it light, powerfull, and well balanced. That's all I care about. That and hopefully it isn't priced out the wazoo!

We have been talking about the z since the introduction of the 450 zuki dirt bike, its an old and tired subject. There is a new thread like this one about every two weeks and has been for quite some time. We have a pretty good idea that its going to be more of the same of what we already see. The efi was dreamed up by someone long ago and for whatever reason it stuck. It was probably the rumour for the KQ and someone passed it on to this machine as well.
New bike, cool. Not going to keep me up nights though.

I bet the new z450 at worst will compete with450r/yfz, and at best will dominate. Now how about a z650 for us sand slingers. By the way, there is more than just EFI, there is MFI {mechanical fuel injection}, dont need a battery for that.

I am not saying the Z is not going to be a great machine but look at it this way the YFZ came out before the R did and the R that everyone was talking about was supposed to be able to beat the YFZ but it just so happened that many people still prefered the YFZ.. So i am thinking that even if the Z is better it wont be a hole lot better... But thats just my opion. And plus the Z is gonna have a full 450cc like the R and the YFZ is still back at 439cc.. And when Yamaha decides to pump them up in 06 it bound to make a difference..
