Default Eiger killing

Ok guys...i think just about everyone had this problem...mine went away after cleaning the carb and putting an inline filter on...but now it's back...like after a period of full throttle it'll bog down and only rev about 1/4 throttle...with the choke on it'll rev faster but only to about 1/2...so i figured it gets starved for fuel...but now the question is what causes this...it also happens when i jump it or hit a jarring bump...it usually just fixes it's self and runs fine either shortly after or sometimes it takes a half hour to run...it did this about 7 times in one day... the carb was just cleaned the day before I rode it and not of the vent lines are kinked....Please help out...thanks

It sounds like its straving for gas. Low float? Plugged fuel filter? kinked fuel line? Plugged fuel valve?
If you run in the 'pri' position on the fuel valve...does that make it better? If it does, then the vacumn line to the fuel valve may have a leak, or the petcock is somewhat plugged.

I had a spider leg caught INSIDE the main jet that I had to blast out with carb cleaner. This caused almost exactly the symptoms you're experiencing, but it wasn't intermittant.

I have an '03 Eiger auto that did the same exact thing. Be driving around and would just boggin down. It ended up being some crud in the carb. After the carb was cleaned out, I haven't had aproblem since. Also added an inline fuel filter. Now for the wife's '04 Eiger was up riding the redtop trail in Silver Bay, got about 7 miles and it started to bog down. Put the choke on and was able to get about 1/4 throttle. Its the same exact symptoms as the '03. Hope a carb cleaning will fix. I did have an inline fuel filter before this happened. Possible crud from manufacture??? Or was I just lucky to have it happen to both my machines. I do keep them very clean. Before I forget, after letting it sit all night, it ran great the next day. That's why I'm leaning towards crud floating around in the carb.

Take a good look at your air filter guys, I went through the whole shabang with the crap in the carb and inline filter and went to a 127.5 main jet and still had troubles once in a while. then i replaced the air filter and put a good coat of grease on the lip that meets the breather box and havn't had a lick of trouble since. that was about 1800 miles ago and im gettin close to 4000mi on my 03 manual eiger

Looking at getting the K-N filter. Question, does won need to rejet after because of increased air flow? If so what size jet? Also cheapest place I found a K-N filter was $68. Anyone know of a cheaper place? Everything else is stock.

Im still running a stock air filter and i had my dealer get me a 127.5 jet and it made a dramatic difference and it cost me a whoppin 3 bucks!!! That sounds about right for a k&n filter but its a life time filter. When it gets dirty you wash it out with warm soapy water oil it and through it back in
