Default 87 LT-4WD no spark

Hi guys,

I sure hope someone here can help me. I have a 87 Suzuki LT-4WD 250cc that is giving me a bad time. A while back it was giving me a problem starting. I checked the spark and it was weak. Then it decided to start for a few weeks, then wouldn't start again, then would start. Frustrated, I loaded it on the truck and took it to the dealer to see what was wrong with the darn thing. They said they couldn't get it started to test it, and if I wanted to pay them by the hour to trouble shoot it it could be quite expensive. Well, because I don't have a lot of money I said forget it and picked the ATV up after paying almost 100 dollars for nothing. I got it home dumped it off the truck and it started right up! So, I thought electrical short. I checked every wire in it front to rear and everything tested okay! I am starting to think it may be the stator. Could this be the problem? I checked the price online and almost died ... 300 BUCKS! I can't gamble on this being the problem for that amount of money. Does anyone have any idea what I can do? I just saw a site in Canada that says they can rewind the stator. Is this for real? Does it work? I sent them an email requesting a price. Hell, it can't cost 300 dollars can it?

I have a lot of property and use this ATV for plowing and yard work. I am lost without it! Can someone give me any ideas what to check or what is wrong?

Thanks for any help!

I have done all the cheap stuff ie: plug, wire, and coil. Seems like all the other parts are 300 dollar parts!
