I'm pretty sure it's an automatic chain tensioner just like in a car engine, so I don't think you can adjust it. I could be wrong and if I am I'm sure someone will tell you here.

Get a manual lol....price is alittle hefty for a book but its worth it

 

The stock tensioner adjusts automaticly. You can check how much adjustment is left. The tensioner is on the rr side of the cyll. Pull the center bolt out of the adjuster (12mm head). Then remove the spring that it holds in. Next remove the 2 allen head bolts on the tensioner and pull the tensioner out. After its removed you can pull on the center shaft and count how many clicks are left before it is all the way out. Before reinstalling you need to push the center shaft all the way in. Then assemble in the opposite order.

I just replaced my timing chain 2 days ago. I only had 1 click left on my adjuster. Most people that I hear of changing them do it with 3 or less clicks left on the adjuster.

I used a HD Did cam chain, its commonly used on another website. I got it from advantagecyclelc.com for around $60.

 

That is exactly how I check it on my KTM. I always wondered if others were the same.
