Default quadrunner 250 engine removal

i just got a 96 quadrunner 250. it smokes real bad and has low compression so im guessing it needs new rings. is it possible to take the head off with the engine still in the quad, change the rings, and be able to time it. or will i have to take the engine out. if so, how do i get it out cuz it looks like the engine is built right into the rear??

yes it is possible to change the rings etc. without removing the engine, although you probably will learn some new words and have some skin removed from your knuckles while doing so.

haha, think i see what your sayin. i dont know if you have ever taken the engine out of one, or a king quad, but im down to taking the drive shaft off and cant figure it out. i tried taking the bolts out off the front part(with the rubber couplings) but they wouldnt budge at all!! is there a way to dissconnect it right from the engine?
