LT230S manual for years 1986-1987 (which I believe are the same for 1985-1988) :
Main jet: # 112.5
Pilot jet: # 20
Needle position it says third, don't quote me on this but that should be the middle it should be 3 from the top or 3 from the bottom.

The book says this is for the Mikuni carb. with the I.D. # 22A00 the I.D. # should be located on a square just behind the choke lever on the carb.

any other things you need I do have the OEM manual ( not Clymer or Haynes) so just ask and I will get them ASAP but please allow me a day or two. Hope I was able to help and good luck !

oh do you need the idle screw and air screw settings, I thought you meant the pilot and main jet sizes, those numbers I gave you represent the size of the jets inside the carb itself, they just screw all the way in. if you need the adjustment settings for the idle and air I can get those too. I misunderstood. just let me know if I understand correctly this time. I can get those settings to you by tomorrow.

the pilot screw setting is 2 turns out. to do this screw it all the way in and then back it out 2 turns. the pilot screw should be the screw just under the choke lever and just above the lip for the bowl on the carb. the screw to the right of the choke lever should just be your idle screw and this just sets how fast you want it to idle ( there is no setting just your prefrence, but too far out and it won't idle ). other than setting your float I think I have told you pretty much everything the book has about the carb adjustments. anymore ?'s I'll be glad to help.

as book reads :

Pilot Screw : 2.0 turns out + or - 1/2 turn this just means you might need to adjust it 1/2 turn in or out from the initial 2 turns out.
