Default mud lites on a z 400

hows it going, has anyone put mudlights on the rear of their Z-400? How do they work? Can you buy some that fit the stock rims? Do they slow it down at all? thanks

Hey,
I have a set of kenda bear claws on the reaar of my bike, I bought the bike with them on it, so I dont know the differences really, but I do think it slows the bike down... I also find that the tires up at high speeds seam to whip in and out... I believe that these tires are alittle on the heavy side as well, I think around 20lbs each. but I was reading ITP makes a good mud light (around 15lbs) so that would be close to a normal weight of a regular tire? (not real sure on that either). I really enjoy my tires in wet areas such as power lines when I can really go way farther then my friends bike cause he has the stock tires on his and they fill up bad. Persionally I would go maybe with a The Maxxis Maverick becasue I think they are really light, around 12lbs and I think you would get a good self cleaning tire, but not loose the performance. I guess the mud light by ITP seams good as well beacause they are a 6ply tire so I think they would be a bit better in the sence that the Maxxis maverick is only a 2 ply. I guess there are alot of factors to think about and I guess it would be good to shop around. hope this helps...

The mudlites work great. I rode with 2 friends this summer who had 22" mudlites on a modded 450r and a modded 400ex. The 450r was running 1 tooth front smaller to compensate for the tires but the 400ex did amazing. I was getting hung up on my stockers and they ripped through :S

Yeah, they work better in the mud with the mudlights, but its still not all that great... the racers just dont work that good in the mud... as you prolly know!! I find with them to hook up better as well in the grass and just normal dirt, takes a bit more to break it loose in corners or whatever...

Hey, i got to the store and they had razor2's on sale so i came home with two back ones. I really like them they are nice and flat so it doens't slow it down. They are nice because you can do fishtails f you want but if you want to go straight it hooks up really good. Also they have a pretty agressive tread pattern and they bite really good with the sides of the tires which works good if you bottom out.
