Default belt snorkel air filter

Has anyone come up with an air filter for the front belt snorkel on the King Quad? When I got back from a trip in the mountains on real dusty trails, I pulled my belt cover off to find it very dusty inside which I suspected to cause my belt to chirp on take off. Once I cleaned everything up it has been fine, but I am wanting to put in some kind of a filter on for next year. Any ideas?

You need to make sure you dont restrict the air intake very much. It will cause temperature increases in the belt housing and reduce the life and effectiveness of the belt.

I have designed a snorkel kit for the king quad and it turns the intake towards the rear of the bike reducing the dirt intake and also helps with water intrusion. The kit is designed to reduce the amount of modification to your stock bike. Only thing that cant be changed is the holes in the front fenders. However if you decide to ever go back to stock you can as long as you keep you stock parts removed. You can see the bike on my yahoo profile to the right.

All take care, ride hard and get muddy

I think if you got a Filter Skin, pre filter (one that fits close) and put that over the intake and mayby the exaust it may help keep some out,(the big chunks anyways). Even a piece of old nylon stocking may work, I think the filter skins breath better though. There were some in the bargin bin at Cycle Hutt, I dont know if they are the right size or not.Check it out.Later.
