Default Hit a speedbump!

Well the Eiger is two days old with 20kms on it and I have hit an issue, on flat pavement/ground the transmission does not want to shift. Its a job getting it into any gear and when you do your stuck their unless you turn the bike off! I have the brake all the way depressed. Also when it does engage into reverse or high even with the brake on it wants to lurch forward. Anyone have any idea's? I have left a message with the dealer but will feel really stupid if I am doing something wrong! Any help from the group would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Piper33

It sounds like you're Idleing too fast. I had the same issue with my Kodiak. Check your owners manual and try to slow the idle down and let us know what happens.

Thanks Guys,

Went into the dealer this morning and asked the question and he said the same thing, that it was the idle set too high. He said it should have been caught when they preped the bike but must have fallen through the cracks. I came home after work started the machine and reached down and turned the idle back (actually the idle screw is really easy to get at on the Eiger) and voila no more gear shifting problems! Thanks for the feedback your a great bunch.
