Actually it's my wife's ATV but I just maintain it.

So about three weeks ago we bought this little 97 Quadrunner for $900 from a guy out in the country. We brought it home and it needed some hardcore luvin.

With some fresh gas and jump it was able to run and stay running(barely) and move on it's own so we were pretty happy.

First off...new battery. Then it went on jackstands and 3 out of the 4 wheel bearings were toast! 200 bucks in Suzuki OEM seals and bearings later...everything is nice and tight. It also got treated to some Suzuki 10W-40 oil and new air filter and spark plug. It still ran bad and I knew the carb was dirty. After a quick carb rebuild to get the trash out and actually tune it correctly...it idles and runs perfect. Actually it's faster than my 98 Big Bear 350 EASY!!! Yes that sucks but the wife is happy

Anyway..I also sandblasted the racks and painted them with some 3M rubber coating and cleaned the entire quad.

Tonight it went out on it's maiden voyage and ran great! Next weekend we are going trail riding and will report back on how it rides out there.

Here are some before and after pics.

Before 2
After a little down time...

yeah the independent rear suspension is amazing compared to a straight axle. Instead of sliding around or flipping into a turn...it just hugs in the corner.

My next quad will DEFINITELY have IRS.
