I put a lift on mine. Real easy to install. Broke two CV's so I took it back off. It makes it feel more tippy and you don't really gain much with a solid axle quad as it just lifts the body. You need bigger tires to gain at the rear axle.

the reason i wanted the lift is beacause the 27" lightfoot's i just put on are rubbing the floorboard brace up front when i turn. do you have any rubbing with your 28" gators

No my Gators don't rub, but the 28" gators are not a true 28"s. They are more like 26 3/4".
My buddy has 28" Mudlites on his Vinny. We took the floor boards off and cut and moved the suport bar back about 3"( the auto dosen't have those bars so you could just leave them off). His Mudlites would rub if he hit the brake going down a steep hill or hit a big bump real hard, but he is in the 300# range. I also had 1 1/2 spacers on mine but didn't like width and the extra effort to steer , some of the trails we ride on are narrow.
