Gc, If it was blue in color then your good. I just got mine a few weeks ago and it was not pre-oiled. I thought that was pretty stupid, I am glad to see they are sending them out pre-oiled.
thanks
Dav

Default King Quad smoking due to BAD FILTER! Pictures

Hello all,

I just got my KQ back last night after the rebuild. My dealer had to replace the piston, rings, and cylender. He would not let me take the ATV out of his shop before a new Twin Air filter was installed. He also installed new bushings in the primary clutch. Suzuki would not pay for that part, but my dealer did. It cost me $80.40 for the Twin Air filter with cage, and a can of Hi-tack Maxima Fab-1 filter oil. He recomended my getting a box of latex gloves when I clean and re-oil the filter. This oil is like glue, very sticky and hard to get off your hands. Hopefully today warms up enough to take it for a ride. It is only 7 degrees here now.

troubledKQ, If you don't mind me asking, where did you have the work done on your KQ? I am from the Iron Mountain area also and was wondering if you had it serviced locally (in Quinnesec), or elsewhere. My King is stored for the winter, but I have a new Uni ready to install this spring. I have less than 100 miles on mine, so hopefully no dirt has got through the stock filter, but just in case some did, I'd like to know which dealer took care of your problem.

Budlyte,
The work was done on my KQ at UP CYcle in QUinnesec.
I just rode it today for the first time since the rebuild las week. I had to pull my ice shack off the lake before the strom hits tonight through tomorrow night.

If you can get to your KQ, I would pull the air filter out and look down the throught to see if there is any dust on top of that butterfly. If there is, you should call Dave at UP Cycle ASAP
and let him know. Alot of people are having this issue. So far Suzuki is not recalling the air filter. They just want you to spend another $80:00 to get a Twin-Air or a UNI filter. If you only have 100 miles on it you should be safe. Unless it was ridden in dusty conditions.

Thanks for the response troubledKQ. Glad to hear Dave took care of you. That's where I bought mine also, so it's good to know they'll stand behind us on this air filter issue. I took a peek at the butterfly last nite, and it seems clean, so hopefully all is well....

Has anyone heard anything positive about our filter problem?
I still haven't seen solid proof that Suzuki is doing anything for us.

If somebody knows something, please let the rest of us hear it.

Thanks,
Glade
