#1
Hey, I just bought new axle bearnings for my lt, and I cant seem to get the inner axle nut off on the sprocket side, and in my book it says if u cant get it off then chisle it off, and I dont really want to do that, just wondering if anyone has had the same problem, and what should i do to break it loose, heat, special oils, ect, any info would be very thankfull.

Use a big pipe wrench, cheater bar, and have a buddy hold the quad down, it'll come off. Soaking with penetrating oil over a couple days might help. Heating it probably wouldn't hurt either since your putting new seals in with your bearings. I've always used a pipe wrench though.

I've always heard that you can't use heat because you'll weaken the heat treatment of the axle. If you use anti-sieze and then cover the nut with electical tape when you reassemble it, you won't have this problem again.

Well bad news, I sprayed it with pb blaster and let it sit for a couple days, then tried a pipe wrench, but i had nobody to hold it down for me so i supidly put a big wrench between the rear sprocket and the swing arm and broke it right on top where i had it welded last year, and the nut still isnt off so the only thing i can think to do now is buy a whole new set up,swingarm, axle, and bearning carrier, any one know where i could get them, brand new it will be 1700 for everything, wanted to get used ones, I live on the border of maine and new hampshire at the southern most part of maine, any info would be great, Thanks
