My 06 DVX is only 4 weeks old.

How long does this corroding process typically take, before it results in some serious engine damage??

3months, 6months, 1 year, 2 years.

What am I looking at here, any ideas?

How many of you that are having this porblem happen have drained the coolant before? I asked my dealership if they knew anything about it and they said no. They also told me that as long as I havn't messed with it yet then it should be ok. I guess the big problem is that people drain the coolant and then don't use distilled water when they refill the system.

That is a normal way some dealers get out of warranty work by just blaming some small add on or mod and deny the claim, but I think with as many units that are effected that BS isnt going to get them anything but into trouble or worse.

I think the mfg is going to have to step up to the plate and cover all units sold as its an obvious defect in design and mfg and is effecting so many machines.

Just keep the pressure on them, and hang on till they get a fix working.

Until then try to run the evans stuff and hope for the best.

Good luck to all of you

Shumway and thetank2006, I don't know how to stress this to you enough..... If you were infront of me I'd grab your shoulders and shake you for added affect..... EVERYONE needs to have this taken care of and EVERYONE with a Z/Kfx/Dvx between the models years of 05-06' WILL have this same problem..... Not maybe, not possibly, not if you have pulled the drain plug, not if you've put light up valve stem ends on your tires, not if your using solitare cards in your spokes to make cool motor noises....... EVERYONE will have this problem. Do NOT let suzuki sweep this under the rug.

well put flyn.... this is a chemical reaction, EVERYONE will have the problem. If not then donate it to science because it means that your quad is immune to some basic chemical reactions.

Yes I understand that it will happen to EVERYONE. I haven't even had my quad for 2 months yet so if something would go wrong the dealership will fix it or they will have a big problem on their hands. If this has happened to this many machines then Suzuki will be coming out with a recall before too long. The way I see it is that even if they don't put a recall out then it should be covered under warranty, right? I didn't do anything to make this happen so it couldn't be considered rider abuse. I know the people at the dealership pretty well and I feel they would have told me if there was something wrong with them. I was told that Suzuki has been using these magnesium covers on their race bikes for a long time, so why would this just start happening now?
