Well i don't like the fact that this clutch weighs more than the stock one, I like quicker revs. I'm sure that none of us have traction problems off the line. I'm gonna check into something else, someone else has a cluch with hardened aluminum plates but i can't remember right now. By the way, I picked up a 400 ex rev box today, my harness came in wed. and i just got my hands on a 400ex manual....i'm trying to figure it out right now. Tomorrow I hope to have it running off the other box......I'll let everyone know...plus i'm gonna try and get some pics on here soon...

SWEET LTZGUY!!

I am trying to find a used Z400 carb right now, but I am still open to a Z250 carb. I think if I go with a Z400 carb I might be able to use the stock jets since my Ozark is going to be putting out about the same amount of power as a stock Z400.

I don't know if anyone can use this, but I just found a website that has some complete service manuals posted on it. LTZGuy, maybe you can use one of them for the CDI swap?

I think i'm gonna have to use the voltage regulator off the 400ex too. It only has 5 wires coming out of the cdi box and mine has 8. I can't get the trigger to work yet. i'll figure it out, i only had a few minutes to mess with it because my wife was in a hurry to get somewhere. Well i have not decided what clutches to go with yet because i don't want steel plates, so i e-mailed barnett and ebc to see what i should do. I am ordering the manual clutch conversion tomorrow though. I have been practicing my launch by barely lifting up the shift lever and reving it up and leaning way forward and letting go. This is one mean little sucker when i launch that way. I guarantee this thing is just about as fast as my friends modded 400ex. I could not believe how violent this thing takes off. The only problem is the tires i have now are so big and they get so much more traction than the stock tires, if you launch like this and it hooks up, the front ends coming up and your flying off. I have to bring the revs up high so it will spin or i'm in trouble. It'll carry the front tires of the ground to 3rd gear. All i can say is i can't wait till it has a manual lever and new clutches in. By the way here are some of my pics thanks to 91cavgt.

Thanks for the compliments . I have some news....first I want to let everyone here know about a free mod you can do with 1 tool. You ever notice how the rear brakes suck if you try to use the foot pedal? Its no fun trying to slide when you can't make the back brakes lock up unless you bear down on them. So heres what you do: look at how the 2 brake cables go to the drum. swap them around and put the foot pedal cable at the top, it gives you moire leverage. All you do is loosen the wingnut and pull on the cable, very simple. Next, you don't have to do this but it makes braking easier and more comfortable. turn your wheels all the way to the left and get a big cresent wrench, pliers or whatever you can use and grab the foot brake lever and bend the end of it outward. it sits to close to the engine. after i did these two things its even more fun to play around on. Try it, you'll like it, if not, it'll go back in a matter of minutes. Now for update. I called barnett clutch today, the fellow told me the part numbers i needed, the clutch frictions are more aggressive and the sprinds are 10% stiffer. he did not know if the bike came with steel or aluminum drive plates. So i called the dealership and they had some in stock, he stuck a magnet to it so they are steel. I have not taken it apart yet, but if they are steel that is good news because barnett offers cryodized aluminum plates which mean less weight. It just means you'll have to change your oil more often, but it won't bother me...i change it about every 3 weeks or every 2 long rides or after i ride it at my friends mx track. Heres all the part# for the clutch components. I'm ordering tomorrow along with the country cycle manual clutch conversion (closed today).

LT-Z250
Friction plates: # TM-10 (5 req.) and # TM-8 (1 req.)
Steel drive plates: # SP-5-20 (5 req.)
Cryodized Aluminum drive plates:# SP-5-20C (5 req.)
Spring set: # MT-18-4
