Lets everyone keep mailing Alba, white brothers and so on and we can make the cdi box happen...it would be really worth it...for some reason this little motor is really responsive to mods and mine is now ALOT faster than stock....can't wait to race a few bikes....

Shock I got off ebay for $75.00 plush shipping I think (it's been a year since I bought it). I also got a set of front shocks for $55.00 plus shipping. Luckily my Ozark is red and so are the shocks. As for pricing for the bushing, I was thinking $19.95 for the two bushings They're made from 15-5 aerospace grade stainless steel, a friend of mine with a cnc lathe made them for me. I have eight sets of bushings left, 20 pieces was the minimum he would make for me.

I just mailed a nice long letter to big gun pretty much begging them to consider a rev box. I can't wait until a few of you do the cam and piston to your bikes, you'll be shocked. After I did the piston all i can say is awsome, it has way more power and torque, this thing flat out hauls butt. In all of the mods i have done to my bike I have yet to have a problem with reliability (knock on wood). I ride the crap out of this thing and it never lets up. Amazingly, i have not noticed a decrease in fuel mileage either. If eveyone on here reading this would e-mail big gun, maybe they will consider making a rev box. Their website is www.biggunexhaust.com. Please post back and let me know when each of you do mail them.

Since there has been no activity in this post, I thought I'd post up that I am in the process of making a gauge cluster for my Ozark. I am tired of not knowing what the motor is doing. So, here is a pic of what it looks like right now.

Clockwise from top left is voltage, boost/vacuum, air/fuel ratio, and oil pressure gauges. The N for neutral is sideways, making it look like a Z (hmm, maybe a fun mod for you Z250 guys!!) and the R on the other side for reverse fell out a couple of months back.

Ummmmm, your kidding right? It looks like you might get caught under a tree limb with that contraption. You need to concentrate on making that thing lighter, not heavier. By the time your finished adding things to it and then put your turbo on, you might be as fast as you were stock! wouldn't it be better to rice out a civic or something? i don't mean to insult you, but its just an ozark, not a rocket. You have more guages than my race car.

You sound like every person who has flamed you for doing everything you have done to your Z250.

Now, in the pics it does look real tall, and yes it is somewhat tall but it isn't as high as what the pics make it appear to be. My primary concern is to get the turbo running correctll, safely, and reliably. Then once I get it tuned in and I know things are going to run right, I can and will remove the gauges. Every gauge that is in there is there for avery strong reason.

1. Voltage gauge - our quads don't have strong electrical systems. With the increased load put on it I need to make sure the voltage doesn't drop too much while under boost.

2. Boost gauge - I need to start off low then work my way up on boost so as to not blow the motor. Without a gauge to show me what boost I am running, I am shooting in the dark.

3. Air/Fuel ratio gauge - this is not a 100% accurate way to measure the air/fuel ratio, but it is a good way to tune the motor in roughly and to let me know what direction I am going in on the air/fuel ratio. Since I am dealing with pressurized fuel line now, the normal size jets will be flowing much more fuel than before. This complicates tuning because the fuel pressure rises with rpm.

4. Oil pressure gauge - This is going to monitor the oil pressure going into the turbo. I need to keep this pressure high enough to sustain the bearings in the turbo, but low enough to not push the oil past the bearings and into the intake charge. Just like the fuel pressure, the oil pressure is going to rise with rpm.

Weight is not as big of a concern on a utility quad as it is on a sport quad. I am more concerned about making sure the tires keep spinning than I am with acceleration. Once I see things are working right, then I'll remove the gauges, but that weight alone won't make my Ozark any faster.

I've got to disagree with you, LTZGUY. I think its really creative to see what can be done to something with some innovation. I really like Ozarks and Z250's, a lot of people do, but I think the one thing that may hold people back from buying one is that they are worried they may want to step up to something with more power eventually. At least we know it's possible now.

As for your comment about ricers, an old musclecar fanatic like myself would say the same thing you said about the quad - it's a four cylinder, not a rocket for heaven sakes! Just go out and find a firebird and drop a crate motor in it! It's the same idea, getting every possible (and seemingly impossible) bit of horsepower out of a smallbore engine.

Well I have the official results on the top speed. 59.5mph according to my gps. Easily has more power to go faster, but the rev limiter is in the way.I just dont understand how it will do 54 in 4th gear but 5th is only 5mph faster? O well. I raced another honda 500 tonight and it wasn't a race. I also raced a polaris 700 efi something or another and put about 4-5 bike lengths in a drag race. We went from a roll because he couldn't keep up with me from a dead stop. He said his bike was reading 60mph when we raced but i was still pulling away from him. I guess the speedo is wrong since a gps is supposed to be more accurate. I paced the honda and his speedo was reading 2 mph faster.

awesome LTZGUY so how good you think it'll go with the new rev limiter?
