hey guys i just found something pretty cool that just came out for the z250. it's a widening kit from diamond j customs. you can get the widening kit for 200 bucks and they said in a couple weeks they're making a kit that comes with z400 shocks. not sure how much taht will cost though. but yeah it makes it about 6 inches wider which is comparable to a z400 so i think this kit and a set of rear wheel spacers would be kick *** since the z250 is pretty narrow. they emailed me a pic of it so here ya go

sweet front end widening kit with stock shocks

SWEET!!! I could use that on my Ozark to get more lift up front!! Of course, then I'd have to lift the rear more!!

I got my piston today. I had the cylinder off of the bike in 17 minutes from a completely assembled and running bike! So then i was off to a buddys house that has a sunnon hone machine. The bore had no wear in it but i needed to break the glaze. He also had a digital gram scale that i used to weigh the pistons. I'm pretty pissed because the wiseco is supposed to be lighter....it weighs 31 grams more. I weighed the piston, wrist pin, rings and circlips together.....stock piston lighter. anyway, i got it running a lil earlier and had it put completly back together by 11:30 p.m. It sounds a lil meaner but i didn'r get to ride it yet...guess i'll find out tomorrow....keep you posted

Yes I do. You can either buy one off of Ebay like I did here........

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mitsu...QQcmdZViewItem

Or you can do a search online for a local turbo shop. Then go to that shop and buy/order a Mitsubishi TD02 turbo. It is very similar to the one above, but my local shop told me that they run around $1200 new. The turbo that I bought from the place above is an IHI RHF3. It is a nice turbo, but as I found out after I bought it, it doesn't have positive (otherwise known as carbon) seals and rebuild kits can't be purchased in the states for it. Because of this, I am forced to take the hit on this turbo and find a differant one, or use the larger IHI RHB5 turbo that I have (it doesn't have carbon seals, but I can get them and I can get a rebuild kit). However, I doubt this turbo will ever get spooled up on this motor.

Garret does make some nice turbos that are small(but they don't have carbon seals available for them). A nice turbo for you from Garret would be the GT12. Most turbo kits for 400 cc quads use the slightly larger GT15. You can go here to read more info on them........

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...ers.html#small

If I find a place to get one of the above turbos for a reasonable price then I'll post up and let you know.

Why do you guys want to widen the front end? Wider the quad less clearance on the trails. But anyway to each there own I quess.

Hey I also wanted to say that I finally had time to install the LTZ250 shock on my Ozark and the bushings I had made worked perfect. I had extra's made so if any of you Ozark guys want to do this conversion let me know. I'm going to put the extra's on ebay. Without this bushing the LTZ250 shock will not fit.

Ozark Bushing

Shock installed

Thanks,

Philip

damn this piston made a big difference. I talked to wiseco today about the difference and he said he is going to look into making a lighter setup for the z250 so the weight will match..in the meantime i'm gonna order a coated titanuim wrist pin to nake the weight the same. its amazing how much difference 1 point of compression makes. I'm going to take the old head gasket apart (MLS gasket) and use only one layer which is 10 thou. thick which will get rid of 17 thou. difference for some more compression..now i'm really josing for a rev box. second gear now pulls as hard as first gear...makes alot more torque.....really worth the 81 bucks.

Hmm, looks good!! Out of curiosity, how much are you asking for that bearing, and how much did you get that shock for?

As far as extended A arms up front, on our Ozarks, if you use a lift kit in conjunction with extended A arms it would actually give you more ground clearance without the need to run wheel spacers up front! It should also be more friendly on the bearings up front than running wheel spacers too.

As I've already said, if I can't get the turbo to work right, I will be going the high compression route along with a small shot of nitrous.

If we could just get an aftermarket CDI box, I might just forget about turbocharging it and just go the high compression route.
