Just because one guy had a bad experiance with a port job doesn't mean that all shops do bad port work.

The only guy I let work on my quad doesn't even work at an ATV shop. He is the lead mechanic at a small engine repair shop. He has LOTS of dirt bikes and motorcycles that he plays around with. He does his own porting and has LOTS of experiance doing just that. I am extremely tempted to pick up a spare head and let him go to town on it, then swap them out to see how it does.

i dont think they make em for z250s...well...i couldnt find any...but mine cracked when i was at the track...hit a double on a muddy day and one of em cracked off, so i just took em off, looks cooler...its weird riding it though...you dont realize it but you rest your feet on the heel guards a lot...

Yeah, I took mine off a few months ago and cut the bottom part of the fenders and zip tied it to the frame...

I looked forever trying to find alloy heel guards and came up with nothing. Im thinking about trying to make my own, but thats probably another one of those projects I'll never get to. What I wish I had was some front fender extensions so they came down a little lower. The three guys I go riding with most the time have utilities so I ride in a lot of mud, and Im always soaked from the knees down while they are barely wet.

91CavGT, I've been thinking about porting a spare head too. The guy that does machine work on the tractors my father restores does a really good job on those, and he did good porting my Camaro. After I get all the must have mods I'll dip into some stuff like that...
