Since we are back on carbs, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...rdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V

It sounds like with 265 kit, stage 2 cam, DG exhaust, Hi flow filter, the above should work for me...????

You can get that carb from bikebandit cheaper. I think the 28 is a bit big for a 246cc, but I got it to work. Maybe for a 265 it will be about right. You could do worse.

Hadaveha, turn the idle up. Or else it is too rich of a pilot jet.

I'd guess the 26 flatslide. I think the bigger the carb the better it will run on the topend, but you will have a lot of problems getting it to run at all. I have a 28mm and had to drill the he!! out of my main jet to get it right. I also had to change needles and pilot jets. It still gives me problems starting sometimes. But the topend is amazing! I can't imagine the trouble I would have with a 32mm. I think I would have had to just take the jet out and run it that way, lol. Maybe with a 273 a 32mm would be do-able... I really don't know for sure. You would think Sudco would know what they are talking about.

I think DG used to sell a 27mm carb for the 230. Maybe they still do, but its not obvious how to find it. It looks like the stock carb to me. Maybe they just bored it out 1mm. For the record, the 250 version came with the exact same carb as the 230, just with smaller jets.

Since I'm not a gearhead and never had the engine apart on the Quad I'm thinking about sending these guys http://kustom-kraft.com/SUZUKIKITS.html my top end to be done. I realize I have to disassemble the top end and send it to them in order to have this done (which scares me) and I have never done anything like this but I guess you gotta start somewhere.

I will probably go for the same exact carb (28mm flatslide) that Poolgod linked in the above post.

Now if I can just pry the check book from my wifes white knuckled fist I will be golden.

Valve work included in price?? Or is it just the resleeving and machining?

$329 is a good price. I doubt it would include valve work. My bill was about $260 and all I had done was the bore job, new piston, and new valves. $70 extra to resleeve sounds good.
