How do yall think a 230 engine would perform on a motorcycle? how much would the top speed be raised with the taller motorcycle tire?

i dont know how the top speed would be. i guess it would have to depend on the weight of the frame. if its lighter than a rolling chasis 230s it might pay off.

i know sereral people on here have used lt250r front shocks as replacements to their lt230s shocks
justrandy is right lt250r a arms will not work, not even after modding the crap out of em. you need lt250s arms, and they are hard to find usually, plus you have to cut the little tube where the bearing is down a bit and you have to make a new top shock mount. and the lt250r front shocks are a direct bolt on after you adjust the preload down to the lowest setting. but the handing of the 250r shock are a grat improvement because of the dual rate springs.

okay so it i got lt250r shocks, droped the preload to lowest setting. they would bolt right up and i wouldn't need new break likes or tie rods. correct?

the lt250r shocks would go in perfect? no mods?

Lol the suzuki lt250r front shocks are a direct bolt-on replacement. No mods needed just be sure and set them on the lowest preload setting. I can't remember how much longer they are than the 230 shocks but I haven't had any problems with them at all. Warrior rear shock works great I just had to make new bushings out of nylon and a steel bushing to take the slightly smaller 230 mounting bolts. If it wasn't for trailrider230s i'd still be riding a tank lol!

Its a lot of work and wouldn't be super-fantastic or anything. Sure I guess it would be a tad faster not having 2 extra wheels to pull around... why do you want to do this anyway? My buddy picked up a 125 2-stroke dirtbike for $500 and that thing runs off and leaves me like I'm riding some battery powered kids toy with dead batteries! But that's on open road, on the trails its a death trap and I spend half the day waiting on him to catch up. I'm just not a big fan of bikes... too dangerous. I'm actually thinking of getting a cr500 or kx500 for around $1500 and putting the engine in my 230 frame. Bikes are cheap. A 500 zilla would cost 2-3 times more.
