I guess I can be thankfull that I wasn't going 50 mph when it happened.

I think the 230 does vibrate more than most singles because its stroke is longer. But it wouldn't seem like a brand new machine off the showroom floor would have the levers jumping around n that.... though I haven't checked that theory.
I really don't have too much seat time on this thing. Once the rain slows down and weather gets a little nicer, I will start riding more and get a better feel of whats normal and whats not. Sometimes I feel like the vibration is excessive, sometimes I don't. Depends on my mood I guess.

Yeah, one of the weights was broken off when I got it. I took the other off when I put my Odi grips on. Having bar end weights from the factory is what makes me think these machine weren't the smoothest runners, even off of the showroom floor.

I have read quite a bit about the steering stem issue. I will probably end up pulling mine out and fabbing up some reinforcements to MIG in there.

Yeah if you read the rest of that thread, everybody had theirs already welded and didn't know it. Seems like they all break eventually.

Does anyone fell like with all the vibration to tha bars n added weights to the end of bars to absorb some of vibration could put more stress on the steering stem welds n fatigue them until it breaks?

Oh yes. If you decrease the weight to zero (no handlebars), then the stem would never fatigue. Maybe rubber bushings would be better to isolate the bars from the stem and reduce weight further.
