"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever. "

Reminds me of another quote "Life would be infinitely happier if we could only be born at the age of eighty and gradually approach eighteen." Mark Twain.

it sure is weird hearing people so happy about snow, kinda cool the makes me realize how much fun it would be if it was just a freek of nature that it happens. up here we just cant wait for the ground to thaw again by this time of your.

Bad thing is I'm waiting for the ground to thaw and yet have no snow either. What a rip off! Supposed to get down to 18 tonight. That's cold in these parts.

I've been watching the promotional videos for the Raptor 250,(I think PoolGod metnioned it awhile back) and wow what a nice little atv. It's pretty dang close in size/weight to our 230's and seems to have really great performance. I wonder after all is said and done with upgrading the 230 how it would perform next to a stock Raptor 250

This is what I built Raptor 250 looking at $5300.00 bones. But it's also the SE with accessories such as performance pipe, header, and all skid plates and a-arm protectors even shock covers.

It won't be able to compete,,, not in the woods for sure. The bore n stroke on the raptor is 74x58. The 260 kit is 70x67. The 260 will have a lot more low end grunt for pulling hills and coming out of curves.... And should still be able to rev almost as high (just not have as much top end power as the raptor). The raptor might have a chance in a flat, straight line race over a long distance.

The stroke on the raptor is tiny. Like the banshee.... No usable power. Either not enough power on the low end or too much to get traction on the top end.

And I don't know what you have in mind for your quad, but mine will be 47 inches wide and 49 inch wheelbase when I'm done. No way a 42 inch wide 44 inch wheelbase quad is going to keep up with me in the trails, lol.

Don't look like a stock raptor has a prayer.

According to my sim, that is what the HP curves would look like for a stock raptor and a modded 230.

The modded 230 has a 260 kit, 10.5 compression, 1mm bigger intake valve, ported intake, larger carb, and a megacycle stage 1 cam.
The stock raptor has an unknown cam, valves, and port flows, so I used the stock 230 stuff (should be close). The compression ratio is 9.5:1 for a stock raptor.

I used the port flow numbers I found online for a honda of similar displacement,,, both before and after porting.

Impressive numbers I have also just started looking at porting, it's not cheap but seems to have (if done right) some really good gains.
