A caliper is a good investment. I don't know if you need a digital one,,, I'd rather have a longer, simpler one. The digital one has more parts to go wrong. I'm using a starrett my dad used to use. As long as you dont use it as a hammer, they last forever. Try ebay.

Valve clearances I always use a feeler gauge.

It would be nice to have a 1 inch micrometer too. But a caliper is probably the first thing you should get.

Sounds good, appreciate the advice

Here is around $280.00 well spent Stage two cam 213 grind. Performance valve spring kit, along with new valves and guides. Now to get all this to the machinist.

Looks good! Do you still have the stock cam, or did you have to send it in?

I sent it in and $70.00 is knocked off the core charge if they determine it's still usable.

So I wonder if Kustom Kraft installs the piston rings prior to shipping? I remember when I visited the website and it said the bigbore kit included topend gasket set, new sleeve, and piston/rings installation included. Installation included means....the sleeve installed in the cylinder or rings on the piston or both? I sent the cylinder to him 2 weeks tomorrow and I don't expect to see it for another two weeks cause when I talked to him prior to sending it he said around 2-3 week turnaround and that doesn't include shipping to and from.

Yep, your probably right. Btw the Quiksteel worked awesome! I used my rotory tool and ground out the JB Weld and re-did the two broken left case bolt holes and it's just like new. The puddy material was easy to work and shape and dried in 1 hour and was so easy to sand to shape with the rotary tool. Now I'm going to repair the magneto cover.

Also I have been polishing the cylinder head with the rotory tool and works great.
