Looking pretty sharp! Is that the spray can undercoating stuff? How well does that work? Is it pretty tough?

Gforce did his frame in some kind of bedliner stuff. That seemed like a good idea.

K so i got a 87 230s and needless to say it runs good but its needs stuff like new bearings, bushings, brakes, sprockets and stuff like that

but i was wondering what would be a good start off performance wise. i just ordered an aftermarket exhaust then i was thinking a k&n air filter but any other suggestions would be great thanks

The undercoatings you get what you pay for some of it is just crap. The best one I have found is the NAPA brand. The can goes a log way as well. The key is to put a good primer coat on it ( I use two coats at least). hen spraying the undercoat patience is a virtue, You have to spray lots of thin coats and let it dry 100% between coats. The thinner the first coat the better. I actually just spatter it the first coat and when that dries, I put on a complete thin coat. repeat as many times as you want protection for. if you notice the white coming through on the edges of the skid pics above, that is what happens when the first (or second if you spatter once) coat is two thick, the good rubber undercoats shrink a little as they dry.

qUADSPORT_230, I do not come here to promote sales, but everyone here knows I am tearing down a 230s this week. since you are here let me know what you need and I will see if its good enough to sell. Also let me know the condition you want it in, I.E. right off the bike working or completely spotless and completely checked over.

Hey PG I know that you will be blinkin in today. on the ball and chain note, I would (and sure you must too) rather have a ball attached and close then none at all. Remember that tom hanks movie with the volleyball wILSON, see even an actual ball can become a need for sanity sometimes. Just that knowledge of knowing you depend on eachother rocks in BRI's book. Sorry everyone got on a mushy tangent.moral of tangent,I do love my woman! I have been here at the shop for a few months now with no time at home but to shower and nap an hour or two. She understands and is cool about it all, that's hard to find.

I have my list for the haedware store all ready and will not be sleeping untill I get there and pick up the rest of the small things I need to complete this moto4. I am ahead of schedule now and will be into that 230 later this week for sure.

Which exhaust did you get?

You could get a 28mm carb for it. That's a good combo with the KN filter. And we've already figured out the right jets for it. I'll be working on the 32mm shortly.

You could put a wiseco piston in it for 10.25:1 compression and do a valve job. Or you could go with a big bore kit (260, 265, or 270).

You could velocity port your head. I hear that works pretty good.... Haven't tried it yet though.

You could change you gears from 12/41 to 14/41 or 13/39. Both of those work well with 20 inch tires. If you have 22's, I highly recommend going to 20's.

Back in the early 90's I used to get some stuff from BigLots to spray on the underside of my truck. It didn't work worth a *****. That's back when I lived up north with all the salt on the roads. Of course, I was spraying it over top of grease n dirt too, lol.

i have decided to use the 230 hubs on the moto4, This way I can give him more clearence in the rear since he is using this for utility purposes mostly. Plus this way I can get rid of a set of them gold 230 rear rims I have a bunch of. I have taken some pics of the hbs in mid process. forgot the before again, the after is next. I have started after the blaster cabinet, with a white for primer and then they are sprayed with aluminum color just as the front.
heres the primer. Name: 00001-4.jpg
