Hey guys quick question I was looking at buying a hot cam for my 86 lt230 but according to dennis kirk it will only fit 87 and 88 is this true that it wont fit my 86

all 230 cams will fit all years but that cam is 170 and its only a stage 1 cam. try this link for more options at a cheaper price. Web Cam Inc. - Performance and Racing Camshafts

They seem to be pretty rare. I don't see many on ebay and of the 3 rolling chassis I got, none had rear brakes. There are new ones on ebay for around $120 I believe.

Hey gents, made it through yet another semester of engineering hell.

I'm pretty sure my girlfriends brother ran that black 230 dry on oil when he was riding a few weekends ago and now the motor is stuck (or so it seems, haven't looked too close). And to be honest, I'm not terribly motivated to fix it considering it was never in great shape, and never ran good anyways. So my question is, if I were to part out the entire vehicle, what would you guys guess I could fetch? Its a 100% complete 86 230S with an old DG pipe, brand new DG nerfs, black custom offset wheels, and an acceptable looking set of plastics with only a few cracks.

Could I get close to $1000 you suppose, or am I being overly optimistic?

I was thinking about putting my '86 up for sale. Just rebuilt the motor (about half broke-in so far), most all stock and in fair to good condition. Thinking I would be lucky to get $650 for it(which is what I spent putting the thing together). If parting it out would fetch more, that would be cool, but I don't know if I would have the time to deal with all that.

Oh, and I still have another rolling chassis to start working on

does anyone have a new lt230s mag side cover gasket they can scan and send a pic of? i need it for developing my side cover. If i have to ill order one this week but a scan would be quicker. thanks
