Well, so throw the racks and hitch on and its a done deal huh? That kinda reminds me of my bayou with the single a-arms and drum brakes. What's the next project?

I stumbled on this: http://sidewindersprockets.com/crf150r.html

Says it saves 3lbs and 3HP. So, does that mean 1lb is 1HP? Or is sidewinder full of ****? I don't know, but I was spinning the back wheels of the 230 last night and found that red chain tensioner thing I got is like running with the brakes on. I can put a hammer in the tire tread and the wheel won't turn until I pull the tensioner back. Simple math tells me that's about 1ft-lb of resistence!

I'm going to try to get around to calling sidewinder for a quote on a custum sprocket. And I want to see if that kit can work on a 230.

I was prepping the 230 to put into the shed until I move to a new house and I got to lubing the chain. I propped the back end up on a metal milk crate, with the machine running. Put it in gear and witht he clutch pulled in the tires spun the same as it did when I let the clutch out! WTF! So the clutch is bad, but will a new clutch solve this problem entirely, or is there something else I will need to investigate once I get inside?

I guess it is another thing on the list once I start working on it again.

Every wet-clutch I've ever seen has done that. Its the same as trying to start the engine in gear with the clutch pulled.... Its much easier to do it in neutral because the clutch drags like you just illustrated. I'd be more worried if it DIDN'T drag a little. That may mean your disks are worn down pretty far.

If you can romp on it and not notice any clutch spin, your clutch if good. IMO anyway.

No problem.

Even if you do have some slippage, most of the time you just need new springs (or the right kind of oil... SF or older).

For the clutch, I am thinking I will just get new discs and springs and be done with it. I am sure the previous owner was abusive and probably ran the wrong oil through it as well.
