i was in the process of rebuilding my 1985 suzuki 230 quadsport engine got it all put togeather new gaskets, piston, rings and started her up. Then the lifters got really noisy and oil came out of a small hole in the front of the jug where it mets the block were a spacers at? I immediatly shut it off and torn it down again made sure the gaskets were in the right place the metal one for the head and the paper one between the jug a block. i was spraying in the whole were the oil came out and the spacer where 1 of the 4 main bolts seem to connect i still am really confused on how and why this happend anyone know?

im in need of a new compression release for my 86 230S. My question is does anybody know are they interchangeable with the releases on the 230G? I know they have a different lever because one is operated by a cable on the handlebars and the other you flip by hand. the shaft is what im curious about. to me they look the same, but the part number is different. anybody know?

Thanks

Default neutral bypass

Just traded a guy for a 91 lt230e last week. Hard starting....cleaned carb and starts on the first pull. Have to find some new rear plastic and realine the axle....otherwise it's pretty good.

My only issue is the elctric start doesn't work. Put in a new battery. Nothing. Checked the fuse...it's fine. Looked at the neutral switch and see it missing a screw and the wire has been messed with. So that has to be my issue. Is there any way to bypass the neutral switch?

Thanks

Sure you can. Find where the wire runs into the switch and out of it, cut the two ends, and hardwire them together. Make sure you're not in gear when you crank it up though!

This is a question Ive been meaning to ask since I got my 230s I have a roost boost wired into my ignition system. does it actually do anything? from everything Ive heard it doesnt really give you any upgrades, I plan on just leaving it there cause I dont wanna have to screw around with the wiring.

Default Neutral Switch

Thanks for the tip!! I just grounded the wire where the dumby cut it. Now it fires right up!!

Now I just need to find some rear plastic and a grab bar.
