85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

I had emailed Vince the other day asking what parts he had left, and also mentioned the website. He said he checked it out and thought it was pretty cool!
I can post what he had tomorrow if anyone wants. I'm on the G1 so I don't have that email in front of me.
Randy, what would you say to explaining how to check valve lash, then I can do it on that other 230 when I'm done with school and illustrate the article?

Alright, I'll do it that way from now on.

I'll look in the kawasaki manual and see if they have it spelled out step by step.

So that's what I'd personally do.
Sorry I can't answer your question jkdsmith, I've yet to take my axle off and I don't have a manual down at school with me.

Take the brakes off, wheels and hubs off. Just worry about the sprocket side of the axle. You'll need big wrenches, lots of muscle, and maybe some heat. Its simple on paper, but hard when it comes to breaking those bug nuts loose after 20 yrs of rusting on there.

How about a dremel to put the flat sides back on the nut and use a smaller (6 point only!!!) socket.
Weld something to the nut, lol. I've done that.
Heat the nut cherry red and clamp some vice grips on it. It will turn so long as its red. When it cools it will stop turning. You might have to heat it up a few times. Oxygen helps.
Drill the stud right out of the hub and get a new stud (or just a bolt).

but isnt the stud, stud welded on? cause if its not i can make something no problem

nah, the stud is just pressed in to a hole, and the splines on the shank of the stud bite into the hole and prevent spinning... if you can take the hub off, grind the backside of the stud (smooth round head) flat and punch the remainder of the stud out backwards... then just get a new stud.
