Yeah, I remember those days in OH. Miss it sometimes, but then again 50 degrees in Jan isn't too bad either.

No problem! Thanks for sending them over.

I threw my sled on Craigslist tonight, just for kicks. $1500 or trade for ATV. I paid $500 cash, have $300 into it, a guy offered me $1000 already tonight.

I'd love to get into a rough and tumble little 4x4. I found one guy with a 97 Bayou 300 4x4. Would be fun to armor up into a little mud/crawling machine. Also emailed a couple of people on Polaris Xplorers, even though I'm not crazy about the 2-strokes in a 4x4. Also emailed on a couple of Blasters and 400ex's.

I'll be curious to see what comes out the other end!

the bayous are cheap to begin with and are slow n heavy, but have that rear differential that disengages so you don't tear up the lawn.

Seems like it'd be a pretty fun little ride. I've got all the speed I'll need w/ my DVX. This thing would be for working and beating the hell out of.

Here's the ad for it:

1997 Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x4

I wish all of Polaris's stuff wasn't 2-stroke back in the day. Any other ideas for cheap 4x4's?

I'd look at the Scrambler's more, but I throw up a little in my mouth every time I see a pic of one.

Personally, I'd find one that you could lock the front diff and at least be able to install a Warn disconnect if it isn't a 2/4x4 model. Check the Warn site for models they offer the disconnect. Full time 4x4 sucks.... and so does 3-wheel drive due to the open diff in front.

I've always liked the old suzukis. Either the 250 or 300. Diff locks, its 2x4 and 4x4, and has 3 ranges... high, low, super low. That's 15 forward gears. And the 250 is the same engine as the 230, but with a longer stroke.

Those are sweet....very hard to come by though. Best chance is an old KQ, but they're still around $2K in this neck of the woods. I'm working on a couple guys right now with Polaris Xplorer 400s. Both under $1500.

My cousin sold his non-running 03 Predator (electrical problems) for $1200, and is going to look at an 01 Raptor for $1700. So then he'd be able to beat me even better on the straights, and even less in the twisties than on his preddy!
