LT 230 chain problems
#1
I have a 86 LT230 Quadsport. The chain always pops off and causes the siding that holds the oil in crack. I have tightend the chain lots of times.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGESTIONS ON WHAT I SHOULD DO!!!!!!!!!!!!Any answers will be apreciated.

Here are some answers:
Buy a case saver, i don't have one but i heard they work really good.
If it is already cracked, get some JB Weld and patch up the crack, see if it works.
Drill out the threads on the tightenign bolts at the end of the swingarm. Than get a good size bolt(1/4") and put it through there w/ 2 nuts. This it what i did and it never goes loose.
Or: tighten the chain more often. I check mine before every ride just to be safe :-)

About 2 and a half weeks ago i put my chain through the sise case on my 88 230 quadsport. my sprockets were still pretty good but my chain had way 2 much side 2 sise play. it moved like 4 inches side to side so when i went to get a side case i bought new sprockets and a o-ring chain. i havent had a problem at all with it yet. i suggest checking your chain for side to side play. there shouldent be any and while your at it move the chain around to see if it has alot of play between the teeth on the sprocket. mine had just a tad bit. but now has none.
