Joined the UNI Camp today

Since I finally heard a resonable explanation on why the KQ filter lets dirt in I decieded to order a UNI. I got it from Dennis Kirk--was checking their online inventory last week and it said they were out, checked today and it said they had some in stock. I bet they sell out after this post from what I have been reading of the difficulty finding them.
My King has lower milage so I was not seeing any problems so far but decied to nip it in the bud just in case while I still can. Someone posted that they heard from Suzuki that the reason is not bad filter media (which I never bought) but that the 700 single has such a strong intake pulse it was literally pulling the dirt through the filter. This makes sense to me. Couple this fact with the restrictive nature of a paper filter (which I have always maintained is the most restrictive) and that engine really must draw to get air through the filter. Now if you replace that with a less restrictive filter the engine will not have to draw the air in as hard and thus keep the dirt in the filter rather than pulling it through. Makes sense in my head anyway....
Basically just posting to let you know that Dennis Kirk appears to have filters available (but not many).
