Guys I just recently purchased a 2005 Suzuki Eiger 4x4 manual transmission... I have a question is it normal to hear a gear whining type noise when you are driving them? This is my first Suzuki and Im not that familiar with them.... Thanks for you respones In advance......

 

Not on the Vinson or Ozark. Is it right after shifting from Lo to Hi range? That is the only issue that I've heard of so far with the Zuki tranny's.

 

I have 05 Eiger. If it is in 4 wheel drive mode, I hear a slight whining noise at times. You will notice this more when you decelerate quickly in 4 wheel drive. When in 2 wheel, mine is quiet. Has been a good machine so far.

Mine does the same thing. Kinda sounds like its comming from the back end.

It almost sounds like it gets stuck in 4wd. But it does it even when it hasnt been in 4wd in weeks.

Mine also has valve rattle noise. had them adjusted 3 times already. It works for a bout a week and then they rattle again.

But yeah, mine whines too.

 

the rear end whines..it's kinda like manual cars in reverse, i don't know what they do to the gears but they have a distinct whine

I have 500 miles on mine and it whines but I don't worry about it and have had no problems. It's probably just due to the way the gears are cut.

 

I read somewhere that it whines because the grears are straight cut not bevel cut? Anywhay I have over 2000 mi with the noise and have no problems so far.

 

i've heard that too...the striaght cut also makes them stonger
