Default help with vinson shifting

Need some help with a stiff shifter. Sometimes the tranny doesn't go into gear all the way and other times it jumps out of gear. Could this be a clutch adjustment problem? Also it can be very stiff and stick while trying to shift up. Any suggestions?

Preciate it.........

Default help with vinson shifting

i'd think it'd have something to do with the shifter not fully engageing a gear...my eiger will do this when I am wearing big boots and I can't feel the shifter, so I have to make sure to make good full shifts. Also when mine gets stiff (that sounds dirty), I find it's like trying to shift a truck without a clutch....the motor has to be in the right RPM's so the gears will mesh.....Hope this helps

Default help with vinson shifting

I tried adjusting the clutch like the service manual said and the machine doesn't try to move now idling when I put it in gear. On all of my prior atv's you could be running in any gear, pull up on the shifter and it would coast smoothly. I guess what I am trying to say is my vinson transmission is crap. I've read on some other forums that there have been several shifting problems with other manual vinson's. Does anyone have a sure fix for skipping shifts, not going into gear, grinding between shifts, stiff shifting, etc.? It has not shifted right since it was new IMO, but dealer said it would get better with wear ,yeah right! Well now my 6mo warranty has run out and the problem has gotten worse. I sure dont want to pay the dealer labor rates for them to fix their problem. Maybe a suzuki rep will respond........

Sounds like what mine does when ridden very aggressively, which is quite often. Usually when i try to shift too fast without releasing the throttle completely.
