How good is the ride on vinson 2005
#1
I have polaris atvs and was wondering what kind of ride i can look forward to on the vinson 500 2006. We go over rocks and variety of trails in wv. Will this bike beat you to death with the type of suspension it has? Thanks for any input

I own an 02 vinson and have never been on another quad myself actually. I always said mine was like riding a giant marshmellow! I love it! Been burried in mud over the top of it as well. Keeps right on truckin'!

the vinson is a very tough bike and wont let you down, however if your looking for the super plush ride of a irs atv then you may be looking at the wrong bike. i love my vinson but it really depends on your riding style. if you going really slow technical stuff the rides not that bad, but its not the ride of a irs atv. if you like high speed stuff and sliding the rear around then this is your quad as it slides real well. not bad mouthing the vinson just trying to state the good and the bad. the only thing i suggest is to try to ride before you buy, the vinson might suit you just fine.

if you are coming from a Polaris IRS machine you will find the Vinson quite choppy and harsh in comparison. it's not gonna soak up the rough stuff like the Polaris, more of a flatlander and fast trailblazer. imo it WILL beat you up on the rocks with the SRA. the IRS is better at keeping all four wheels on the ground in uneven terrain. a good friend has the Vinson and it slams me around on his lawn at speed because I'm not used to staying off the seat. with my Sportsman I can fly over all kinds of rough stuff and just sit there in comfort. it's just a matter of personal prefference, I happen to like the big, heavy, easy ride of the Polaris.

What kind of trails,we should know and what kind of rocks, big or small , they all tell a diff.story.fast trail in the open or slow trails in the woods.Tires play a big part of that ride and air pressure, some machines come with good tires for alright riding and others you will want to change right away, ride diff. ones and go on other sites, they all have good and bad points, for someone in Cal.may not be good in W.V.. do home work first and ask ?

It's a great slider, nice for tight trails,I've got the 26 Bears on mind and just right for the riding (I) do .I find if it gets to bumpy,I just stand up off the seat 1 or 2" and for me it's nice.again also how much do you weigh, could make a diff. in that ride, have not rode a pol,so can'y say anything.ride both if you can, diff sizes.Happy Trails

i come from a 05 700efi polaris to a 05 vinson and theres no comparison to the ride. after riding the polaris for 6 months i felt like my vinny was going to beat me to death. i adjusted the shocks all the way down on the vinny and it helped tremendously, but its still nothing like the ride of the polaris. ive gotten use to the ride of the vinson now and i love it but it dosent compare with polaris.
