Default Dalton Clutch Kit First Impressions

Ok guys, I FINALLY got my King back today and I took it out back before I loaded it up and paid them at the stealership to make sure everything was in running order, but above all, to check out the new powerNow, bear in mind that I have a winch on the front of it before you I give this "quick review." Basically, yes; wheelies are now possible on flat ground and with the stock tires, which basically don't allow me very much traction at all. Before, without the kit, I couldn't even think about doing a wheelie on flat ground. Now it will do it in both high and low range, however, it requires either a bump or a strong pull from me to get it done and a stab of the throttle. I kind of expected it to come on a bit stronger, but it's definitely an improvement. Now, this is just a quick first thought on a little test loop out behind the shop at the dealership, so I will bolt up the new tires Saturday (which should provide a lot better traction) and try to give you guys a thorough test and my final thoughts on this mod. I might also come up with a good method for getting the front-end light without my input on the bars. I think it will do it without question on pavement. Right now though, I'm happy.

Default Dalton Clutch Kit: First Ride (Updated)

Well, I told some of you it wouldn't be until Saturday....but I couldn't wait. We had a very nice temperature rise today and I couldn't stand to be inside when I had a fourwheeler sitting out back begging to be ridden. Ok, no I couldn't really wheelie the way I wanted......because the stock tires were spinning too muchI think it'll be a no doubter once I get the new meats bolted up and they actually dig in enough to pop the front end with no questions asked. With a small bump though right now, there is no second-guessing it: nail the gas and it'll reach for the sky. This is with a winch, keep in mind. What I did notice is that on flat ground and just a straight shot, the mid-range is much improved. It seriously PULLS now and if you aren't hanging on, it'll throw you right off the back. I was so desperate to ride it that I just went out to this guy's house I knew and knocked on his door and asked if I could take it for a spin on his trail system, which is approximately a little over 2 miles long and continuous, so no turning around. He said sure, but he was beat and wouldn't be coming out. Well, about 5 minutes later here he comes on a 400EX and said he couldn't resist a quick run. The point I'm trying to get at here is, I kept up with him on the trails the whole way. He kept looking back to make sure I was there, only to find me right on his *** the whole time. In the corners, he tended to gain on me a little bit, but I seriously got it back on the straights with that 700 and the clutch kit just doing their thing. Man I love it when I make sport riders do a double-take

I would imagine, though the advance is felt more in the speed deparment. I guess it would though because if it boosts power when you put bigger tires on, must help with pulling.
