it snowed for the first time this year. we got like 4 inches over night. i had to take the king out. it gets unreal traction in the snow. its not like the old 230 quadsport that thing sucked in the snow even if there was 2 inches. how much snow have you guys taken your king through.

yeah the honda 300 4x4 are good wheelers but they don't have all the ranges the king has.

You're right about that Thomas! The King Will go thru tire high snow on an incline if need be. But not too easily. It really shows off in 8 to 12 inches. Can't wait to get some snow here... Well, up north anyway...

You guys are going to kill me for this but I have to tell you what I think to.

Having owned a 87 4x4 Suz Quad Runner, and being the care taker of my brothers 97 KQ,the stock tires on the KQ are not really that good for the heavy snow.I cant speak for the 00 model KQs,I dont know if they made a tire change or not, however, the pre 00 tires just dont do the trick.

We took my bros KQ with the stock tires out to our local riding area some time back, and needless to say, this quad could hardly conquer any of the heavier snow covered hills.I was absolutley astounded at the poor traction qualitys of the stock tires.I knew the stock tires performed poorly in serious mud,I had NO idea they were worse in snow.

A change over to a set of Vampires quicky changed all that though,NO comparison to the stock tread.I guess what im saying is,if you guys like the traction your getting now,ok,but its FAR from what kind of traction you can REALLY get with some REAL tires, simple put,the stock tires SUCK,
Bill

Well,
Thomas, you should of told me you had a tire change in your opening post.I was wondering how you could think that a KQs stock tires rock in the heavy snow?I've had two KQs with stock tires and was very unhappy with them, but now I understand, you were running the Rubys tires on the KQ,thats the differance,

sorry about that bill, it didn't come to mind when i was writing the post.

I wondering if any ones has experience with chains all the way around on thier king. I have had the on my quadsport but i wondered what it would be like when they are on the front tires. i am going to be ridding with some sleds in a little bit and i didn't what to have them pull me out.

Awe Ballony, Bill! I can make my KQ go thru stuff that makes you tied just to look at... And if you had stayed with us when we went to the house after riding Leota, last winter, you could have watched the KQ pull the trailer up the hill. The van couldn't do it. There was about 7 to 8 inches then. And don't forget, the stock tires do pull other quads out of a bad hole sometimes... :0)
