Eiger dying at high speed
#1
I have an '02 Eiger 4WD and when I hit about 45 in 5th gear it shuts down and refuses to go. It doesn't do it all the time but most of the time! Someone suggested a fuel filter in-line but I don't where to put it if I added it...there seems to be two lines going to the carburetor. Think this will solve the problem??
Thanks,
Drew

After it dies does it start back up again after a few minutes?
If it does, your Eiger might be starving for fuel. At high RPM's your Eiger wants more fuel and isn't getting it so it's dying. Your carb or fuel line could be partially blocked/plugged or there could be crap in your gas tank that is blocking the screen covering the fuel line. Adding a fuel filter will help prevent the problem in the future but may not fix the current problem.

Does it only do it in 5th gear? If you rev any other gear will it cut out? Could be a bad spark plug, bad spark plug wire, or evan a cdi box. At 45 the carb should be just about comming off of the needle circuit has the main jet ever been changed? I would pull the carb off and clean out the bowl. Add an inline fuel filter between the fuel petcock and the carb and run it again.
