lt500r original shocks?
i guess nobody on here has every taken a lt500r front shock apart then? you can take them all apart and knock out the seals and change them. they are not sealed like most other atv shocks. you can also rebuild the rear, parts for the rear are easy to get. the suzuki rear shocks are kyb's. so i'm thinking the front must be also.

Good luck with this one bro! When I rebuilt the motor on my 500 factory parts were getting scarce.... for the engine! I think you are looking at the "after market zone" on this one. I'm interested to see what happens here!..., but I would not count on factory parts. What did the local Suzuki dealer say?

the dealer told me $900 for 2 new shocks! the shock parts are not listed. i emailed a few places and i'm waiting for a response. i have a set of works dual rate with rezzie's, which i just rebuilt and they look cheap to me compared to the stock 500 shocks.
i'm rebuilding my 500 engine right now. and so far i have had no problem getting any of the internal parts. i have ordered over $500 in lower end parts, and all have been available and easy to get.

Wow! I'm Glad your finding the parts you need. When I was talking about parts I meant factory and by what you are paying for them I'm sure they are factory...Right? It appears that you have a local guy that gets it, I had to work for it,.. using a few places to get the factory parts I wanted. I am kind of a factory parts guy just because I don't trust a majority of after-market stuff on somethings. Like a lower-end bearing. Getting the job done right on important things(like the lower end) means it will run for another twenty years... it's just the right thing to do! Nonetheless, 900 geet sounds major on the shocks though. Look around a bit. My fronts are getting weak too and I am in about your same position. Let me know what you decide on, or if I find something that I would do, I will post.
Or, just ride the rear on a wheele wherever you go to save stress and use of the fronts! :cool
