king quad performance
#1
I just bought a 2006 king quad and I love it, put 82 miles on it in 2 days. I was wondering if anyone has found any aftermarket engine controllers etc. that will eliminate the power limiter until you hit 8mph. it is not that noticeable but I would like to eliminate it if possible. also are there any power commanders out there that really make a noticeable increase in power whether they eliminate the 8mph power limiter or not. Does anyone have any experience with the Venom winches found on ebay, the line speeds and horse power specs they list are impressive but they almost seem a little too inexpensive to really be high quality ( I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for, but there are exceptions)

A company called Velocity Devices Inc.(VDI) out of Canada is currently developing a replacement ECM for the King Quad that is supposed to advance timing and give it all the power possible from 0-8mph...this is the item most King Quad owners have been waiting for and I would recommend for you to hold out for this, i have been told 3 months longer till it's released. The fuel adjustors out there just adjust fuel and don't change timing at all, and performance increases from them aren't worth their price.
VDI has one for the Kawi-V-twin and it really woke it up...so the KQ should see some of the same power increases.

They do not have the King quad listed yet, but on Nyroc's ATV forum there is a thread where a guy that works for VDI has garanteed a replacement ECM for the king Quad..keep track of this thread and it'll tell you the ECM's progress b/c VDI updates the thread with latest information. Here is that link>>>> Replacement ECM thread
