I just picked up a brand new LT-R450 last night for $6,116.95 out the door at a local dealership. If anyone has found them cheaper I would be surprised (if you have found them cheaper, let me know). Anyways, as we all know, the rear tires are way to small. I need a tire that is good in the desert but I would like to use my stock 8" wheels as well. Is this possible? Or do I need to buy new wheels? I am pumped to get on this thing. Thanks for your input!

well i was close i got mine for $6219.51 out the door. anyway on to the question. the tires are 18s and thats what the bike is gear for rite now. if you are going to be in the sand a lot you will prob need some 20in paddle tires. if you are trail riding you will need a lil more ground clearence maybe some 20s. if you go mx racing don't touch em thats what the man Doug Gust uses, they work well. so you have to tell me what kind of riding you do. i ride around a lil trail riding and a lot of sand bar riding and sand drags so i have 20" haulers in the sand and i just ride the stock tires around till they wear down i will go with a maxxis razr. and if you go 20in you will need to gear down it lugs a lil with the bigger tire post some pic check mine out. got any questions pm me

getrmuddy is right..it all depends on what riding u do..i hear that with 20s it gets bogged down a little but u can change out the sprocket and solve that problem..but about rim sizes..when u buy the tire it will show sizes like 20*10*9 , the 20 is for the height and the other two are for rim size and width i just forget which is for which

I just purchased the LT-R450 for 6,116.95 OTD also... Did you purchase through Champion???
That is a great price and I could not pass it up!!!
I do mostly desert trail riding in Arizona. I called ITP and they recommended the Holeshot GNCC tires.
Below is what I ordered from rockymountainatv.com today...
Front - Holeshot GNCC 22x7x10 on a 10x5 ITP T-9 Series polished rim
Rear - Holeshot GNCC 20x10x9 on a 9x9 ITP T-9 Series polished rim
