Default z400 rear shocks

I've got a used 2003 z400. I'm new to sport quads but I'm noticing that when I jump small jumps the shocks are bottoming out in the back on landing. I'm about 200lbs. Is this normal or is there some adjustment I can do?

First set your ride height (sag) properly, then fine turn the ride with the compression and rebound damping. You should only bottom occasionally, and then only when landing a huge jump.

if you can afford it get a good set of aftermarket shocks for it. the stock ones are ok, but you will like a better set if your jumping,
and since its a used bike the rear shock may not be in to good of shape for jumping
