Default Eiger fuel gauge not aligned with plastic cover

My fuel gauge is about 1/2 inch forward of the hole in the plastic tank cover. Any Eiger owners seeing this? I confirmed the 2 fuel tank rear bolts where tight. Does that mean the plastic fule tank cover has shifted? Since it bolts the front plastic I'm wondering if the entire plastic front section has shifted. Not a big deal

it's supposed to be like that, so when you are sitting on the seat you can see the whole gauge, if you look directly down at it you have to be standing up to that or leaning way ahead and that's not the natural riding way so it is ahead for when you are in a driving position to read the whole gauge.

It used to be lined up but has gradually shifted with time.

Mine is the same way (not quite 1/2 in but 1/4) I havent had any issues, I doubt the tank has moved, but loosen it up and try to realign it.

I noticed mine doing that too...My foot peg bolts were loose and the plastic would move whenever I'd get on the bike. Tightend them up...good to go...may or may not be your problem...just an option

My 2003 is the same way.......guage doesn't line up perfectly with the hole. It's no BMW for fit and finish........but it's sure a runner......3100 miles worth !!!

My is the same way, took it to the stealer and they could not find the problem, all the tank bolts were tight, I have just learned to live with it.

Has anyone come up with a fix to the alignment problem? I was riding my 2005 yesterday, a few bumps but nothing spectacular. Before the end of the day, I noticed the gauge had moved about 1/2 inch off center. I removed the plastic around the tank and tried to tighten the tank bolts, but nothing corrected the problem. It was perfectly centered at the beginning of the ride.
