Default LT80 performance pipe

I bought a DG pipe for my son's 2005 LT80. Do I need to re jet the carb? I have been told via this forum the LT80 is very rich to start with. Currently it smokes alot (seems too rich to me) but never fouls a plug so I left it alone. I thought the performance pipe would lean it out some??? Thanks for your help.

Your performance pipe (DG) works basically the same as the stock pipe w/a lil more rpm's.
As allways, let the plug color guide you..Milk chocolate brown...
You could prolly jet DOWN a size or 2...87.5 or 90 main jet.

Should I put a new plug in after installing the pipe and just try it with the stock jet ? In your opinion what pipe is the best in way of performance? You are telling me to go down and DG says to go to a 110main jet??? What to do? Thanks

If the air box and all is stock, then a 110 is not the way to go.
You can try a new plug, prolly won't make a difference, but for a few bucks......why not.
Pipe: I prefer the Trinity pipe with my motor kit. For a stock machine, there is nothing wrong w/the DG.
As for what to do,,I've lived LT80's for 13 years now. I have absolute confidence in my jetting recomendations.

Do I use the same stock plug(only a new one) or a different one? Should I use a Uni or K&N filter with the pipe? Thanks

The stock plug should be fine (old or new).
Everyone has a filter preference and to each his own. I've never used any other than the stock air filter.
With any change of filter, again, keep an eye on the plug color at first.
