I am trying to sort out a beater LT230 for a friend. It will start but won't idle. Can you guys tell me what the base line settings are for the two screws on the carb and how the choke works? The choke lever has a black button on the other side of the carb that seems to have something to do with it. (Half choke postion?).

A good plave to start on the mixture screw is about 2 turns out from bottom.
The idle speed is probably gonna be about 1400 rpm.
If it starts and runs, but wont idle, and you think the idle speed screw is far enough...check the pilot jet for being plugged.

 

about 2 turns out for both screws is a good starting point. and i dont know wht that black button thingy is either and i have had this thing for 2 years

 

my friends father sed it is a cold weather starter but my qs starts almost no matter wat. someone in the forums sed it works together with the choke
