Hi everyone. I just bought my first quad but need help identifing it. I believe it to be a 1986 quadracer. The problem is that the VIN is missing at both locations that they should be at (down tube on left side and plate by steering head). To make things worst, the frame serial number is also missing (plate on left hand side in front of motor). The only thing I have to go by is the moter S/N. It starts out with "J104". Can anyone help?

Is it a 2 stroke or 4 stroke just want to make sure its a quadracer or not and people on here will be able to look it up but I don't know how to look vins up so hopefully some1 will chime in and help.

 

It is a 2 stroke.

I just got done with CA DMV and I'm glad that's done. The person I bought it from didn't have the title so I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork at the DVM and have it inspected. I did find out that there is a VIN on the bike but it was issued by CHP which means that the original VIN was taken off (either by someone painting the bike or stolen). Anyway that doesn't help in identifying the bike.

But on a good note, DMV was able to find that the bike was register in 02 and that the bike is a 1985 (not 86 as I was told by the seller).

Well then what you have is a 1985 Suzuki lt250r quadracer and here is a site with a picture of one and all of the parts on the bike I figured it might come in handy.
